Barry
McGuire
Barry
first stepped onto the world stage in the sixties as the gravelly
voiced lead singer of the New Christy Minstrels. His 3rd hit song,
"Eve of Destruction" which echoed around
the world and became the anthem for the times, topped his Gold
Records, "Green Green" and "Green
Back Dollar". His personal journey through life
is a fascinating one.
Lead singer in the orginal production of "Hair" he was
also imortalised by the John Phillips song in the Mamas and Papas
"Creque Alley". In the early '70s Barry's life took
a new direction. Having found his answer to, as he describes it,
"The Fullness of Truth", and being born again into the
teachings of Jesus Christ, he left Hollywood and set out to do
what ever he could to bring about positive change. Barry's transformation
is exemplified in the lyrics of his music, which now focuses on
the importance of family, the value of children, and Barry's personal
journey through life.
At
72 years of age, his performances in Frogtown's recently released
"Mr. Hakk N Koff" and "I Pledge Allegiance"
are like bottled TNT!

Terry
Talbot to join Barry McGuire
for Australian Tour

Terry
Talbot's "The Painter" Billboard Magazine called,
"acoustic album of the decade!"
Terry Talbot has a rich history in American music. Before Terry’s
journey into Christian music he was the founder of the country
rock band, Mason Proffit of Two Hangmen and Better Find Jesus
fame.
They recorded five albums on the Warner Bros. Label and their
opening acts included John Denver, The Doobie Brothers, Steely
Dan, and Dan Fogleberg. Later, with brother John, he toured
as the opening act for the Eagles. He earned early recognition
as an accomplished guitarist with Glen Campbell, Chad Mitchell
and Sonny and Cher.
Twenty
years ago Terry Talbot was one of the few who founded and shaped
Contemporary Christian Music…CCM. Once again he is bringing
change to CCM with a new musical style, Celtic-World Fusion.
Blending the moving sounds of Celtic folk instruments, the passion
of Flamenco rhythms and the Americana Folk music of his heritage,
he has created a unique acoustic musical blend on his new CD,
Steps of the Mission.
Terry’s
most recent cd, Steps Of The Mission and his live presentation
is a multi-cultural musical banquet that joyously takes the
listener around the world in one concert! From Terry’s
amazing finger-picking Irish American folk guitar to Bruce Kurnow’s
harmonica and Al Perkins’ slide guitar, it is not uncommon
to see the audience leap to their feet in repeated standing
ovations in the course of one performance. Terry’s original
songs are packed with emotional and spiritual nutrition that
will suffice even the most discerning palette. As he shares
his friendship with Christ, Terry’s sense of humor and
personal transparency touches even those of other faiths in
an inviting and encouraging manner.
He
has recorded over 30 albums and has been nominated for a number
of Grammy and Dove awards. The last seven years he has toured
with duo partner Barry McGuire recording four CD’s and
a live video. Before that he recorded seven solo albums with
Sparrow Records including the Grammy nominated album, The Painter,
with his brother John Michael Talbot.
Terry
has reached a place of peace and surrender in his personal life
that is reflected in his music and message. His musical styles
have always pushed the cutting edge. Much like his real life,
Terry’s broad range of experience allows him the ability
to connect with his audience of all ages and lifestyles. His
engaging life stories and quick sense of humor leave the audience
wanting more.
